Korean group BTS won the “Artist of the Year” award – the most important category of the American Music Awards (AMAs) 2021.
According to CNN, on the morning of November 22 (Vietnam time), BTS surpassed a series of famous names such as Drake, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd to receive the most important title. The Korean group also won the awards “Favorite Pop Group” and “Favorite Pop Song” for the hit “Butter”.
The group’s representative thanked fans on Twitter after winning the award, “We are very grateful to those who have supported our music, especially the fan club ARMY. We love you!”. The post attracted hundreds of thousands of likes and comments within minutes. Many fans congratulated BTS on their achievements in the US market.
During the award ceremony, BTS also drew attention with the performance of the songs “Butter” and “My Universe” with the band Coldplay.
