Rapper Binz’s music video ‘Bigcityboi’ has impressed U.S. entertainment website Billboard, which has hailed his performance.

It wrote on Wednesday that Binz (pronounced Bin-Z) has reached “new heights” with ‘Bigcityboi.’

The video has raked in over 55 million views on YouTube as of Friday, and made its way to the video-sharing site’s Top Trending in several countries within 12 hours of its premiere on July.

Billboard said the rapper has a very distinctive sound and “a husky rap style that seamlessly transforms into his signature vocal flow, which some consider romantic.”

The artist started out in the hip-hop underground community in 2008 and slowly worked his way up to later “become a staple in the hip-hop scene in Vietnam,” it said.

Binz, who lives in the U.S., combines “gentle and romantic” sounds and “cool, slick” rap, creating signature sounds and creating hit songs like “Giu (Keep), “Ben Anh Dem Nay” (With Me Tonight) and “Hoa Hong Dai” (Wild Rose), it said.

He has maintained a “street” image with recent soundtracks like “SoFar”, “OK”, “Krazy”, and “Gene”, and won fans’ hearts with the lyrics of ‘Bigcityboi.’

Binz, real name Le Nguyen Trung Dan, 32, is currently one of the judges of Rap Viet, a popular Vietnamese reality TV series.
